OKM eXp 6000 Professional
W-9 and vendor pack with every quote
Shipped direct from the manufacturer
OKM's own product page marks this exact model no longer manufactured, naming the eXp 7000 Professional Plus as successor. The Tunnel Sensor, Live-Stream Sensor, GPS Receiver and Android Smart Glasses belong to that Plus edition too, not this listing.
01
OKM's own product page marks this model no longer manufactured, and four items in its wider range belong to the Plus edition instead
OKM's own product page for the eXp 6000 Professional carries this notice: "This product is no longer manufactured. As successor product we recommend OKM eXp 7000 Professional Plus." That is a statement about production status only; whether this listing continues is a separate question, not one this text answers. It is a 3D ground scanner: a touchscreen Control Unit linked wirelessly to a Telescopic Rod, carrying one of two interchangeable probes. OKM's own flyer marks four further items differently. Its delivery scope legend reads "1 Professional, 2 Professional Plus," and under that key the Tunnel Sensor, the Live-Stream Sensor and the GPS Receiver each carry only the "2," Professional Plus mark; OKM's hardware manual separately states the Android M300XL Smart Glasses "are part of the Professional Plus edition." None of the four is confirmed available with this listing. Call and we will confirm exactly what ships before you order.

02
The delivery scope covers eleven items in the case, and the four Plus-only parts are not among them
OKM's own delivery scope for the base Professional lists eleven items: the Control Unit, the Telescopic Probe, the Super Sensor, a protective cap, a pre-configured Windows notebook, a USB flash drive carrying Visualizer 3D Studio Standard Edition, Bluetooth headphones with a charging cable, a charger with charging cable, a travel adapter set, a waterproof and shock-resistant case, and a quick start guide. One dealer's own delivery-contents list for what it calls the same product instead includes the Tunnel Sensor and the Live-Stream Sensor as standard, which does not match OKM's own scope for the Professional. Call ahead of ordering and we will confirm exactly what ships with your unit.

03
Six modes run on the platform, and only four are confirmed to run without added hardware
The Control Unit runs six operating modes: 3D Ground Scan, Pinpointer, Mineral Scan, Live Scan, Magnetometer and Tunnel Scan. OKM's own product page states that Magnetometer and Tunnel Scan need optional sensors outside the standard delivery scope, without naming which sensor either mode needs. The Tunnel Sensor itself, tied to Tunnel Scan by name, is one of the items OKM's flyer scopes to the Professional Plus edition. Scans from 3D Ground Scan, Mineral Scan and Tunnel Scan save to the Control Unit's internal memory, then open on the touchscreen in 2D and 3D, rotatable and color coded. OKM labels its detection method "GST/EMSR" on both the product page and the flyer. EMSR, Electro-Magnetic Signature Reading, is defined; GST is not spelled out anywhere OKM publishes, including its own manual. Included software, Visualizer 3D Studio Standard Edition, ships on a USB flash drive for working out a target's position, size and depth on a computer afterward.
04
The Control Unit runs about 4 hours on a charge, and the Telescopic Rod carries a separate battery of its own
The Control Unit weighs approximately 2.34 kilograms and runs about 4 hours fully charged at 25°C (77°F), figures the product page and the hardware manual agree on. One independent dealer and a second dealer list a lower weight and a shorter run time for the same part; the two figures disagree, and this page states both rather than choosing. Its 6.5 inch touchscreen runs at 1024 by 768 pixels, driven by a quad core AMD processor with 4 gigabytes of RAM and an 8 gigabyte SD card for scan storage. The Telescopic Rod, the pole between the Control Unit and the probe, carries its own battery, rated separately at about 5 hours. Neither part is rated waterproof. OKM's manual states plainly that water or condensation can destroy the unit, and both parts carry an IP40 safety class with no test standard cited alongside it.
05
Two probes share one connector, and only the eXp 6000 warns you when you are holding it wrong
The Telescopic Probe and the Super Sensor both connect to the Telescopic Rod through the same magnetic fitting and link wirelessly back to the Control Unit; either goes on in seconds. OKM states the eXp 6000's orientation sensor is exclusive to this model within the eXp series: an on-screen icon and an acoustic tone warn the operator when a probe is held at the wrong angle, because OKM states correct orientation is required for reliable measurements. The product page and the hardware manual disagree on both probes' weight by as much as 30 percent (the Telescopic Probe: 1.36 kilograms on the product page against 1.04 on the manual), and both figures stand here, side by side.
06
Wireless data transfer, the color touchscreen and LED lighting are eXp 6000 exclusives within OKM's own range
OKM's FAQ names three features unique to the eXp 6000 within the eXp series: wireless data transfer between the probes and the Control Unit, the integrated color touchscreen, and LED lighting. The Control Unit and the Telescopic Rod communicate over WiFi 802.11n, with a maximum range of 4 meters, line of sight, between the Rod and the Control Unit; A second dealer's own listing states 30 meters for the same link, a figure OKM's own two surfaces do not support. Bluetooth wireless headphones ship in the box with their own charging cable. OKM's flyer names Android video eyeglasses as the preferred live view option in low light or bright sun. OKM's hardware manual separately states the Android M300XL Smart Glasses are part of the Professional Plus edition, not this listing.
07 FOR UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES
OKM's own manual promises no result, and this listing accepts purchase orders from institutions
OKM's hardware manual is direct about what the eXp 6000 can and cannot promise: "we cannot guarantee that you will be successful and have a find during your research," and it names variable soil types, extreme groundwater, clay and wet ground as conditions that can reduce any detector's depth capability, regardless of make or model. The manual also carries an explosive ordnance caution: never dig at or strike a metal signal, treat curved or rounded objects and anything resembling ammunition as a warning sign, leave it in place, and report the find to the police. This exact model is sold by My Surveying Direct, an authorized OKM dealer. Purchase orders are accepted from universities, colleges and government agencies. Safety and cautions (from the hardware manual)
| No guarantee of results | "By purchasing or using one of our products, we cannot guarantee that you will be successful and have a find during your research. The recognition of hidden and buried objects depends on a huge number of factors." OKM states variable soil types, extreme ground water, clays, sands and wet soils make scanning more difficult and "may reduce the maximum depth capabilities of any and all detection equipment, regardless of make or model" |
| Health hazard statement | "If used properly this device normally does not pose any health hazards. According to current scientific knowledge, the high-frequency signals are not harmful to the human body on account of their low power." |
| Condensation warning | When moving the unit from a cold place to a warmer one, do not operate it until any condensation has evaporated; the unit is not weatherproof and water or condensation can destroy it |
| Magnetic field and metal interference | Avoid strong magnetic fields from large electric motors or unshielded loudspeakers; the manual recommends staying at least 50 m (150 ft) from this type of equipment. Metallic objects on the ground or on the operator's person (phones, keys, jewelry) can affect scan data; the manual instructs operators not to wear steel toe boots |
| Care warnings (do not) | The manual instructs: do not use the unit to clear bushes or pry rocks loose; do not drop it in water or use it in rain; do not leave it exposed overnight where dew could form; do not store it somewhere it could get extremely hot, including a car trunk or interior; do not spray lubricants, cleaners, solvents or sealants onto it; do not attempt to modify or repair the electronics |
| Anti-tampering | The manual states the device has a built-in anti-tampering module that destroys the unit if improperly opened, and that there are no end-user serviceable parts inside |
| Danger of explosion during excavation | The manual warns that historic conflicts have left explosive ordnance buried in many parts of the world. It instructs operators not to dig or strike wildly at a metal signal, to note reddish ground color as a rust indicator, to treat curved or round objects (buttons, rings, pegs) and any recognizable ammunition or shells as a warning sign, to leave ordnance in place, not touch it, not take it home, and to mark the location and report the find to the police |
| Warranty exclusion | "The warranty does not cover damage resulting from an accident, neglect or abuse." Modifying or repairing the unit's electronics voids the warranty |
| Charging requirement | Use only OKM's approved chargers and power packs, included in the scope of delivery. The manual states: "Never use the 115/230 Volt mains supply" directly |
