For survey firms
You already know what you are doing. What you want from a supplier is a straight answer about whether an instrument will hold the accuracy your deliverable needs, the paperwork handled when the client is an institution, and someone to call when something behaves oddly at seven in the morning on site.
What we sell, by the job it does
| The work | What we would put in front of you |
|---|---|
| As-built and interior capture | Handheld SLAM. Trion P1 for small spaces, P2 where range and runtime matter, S2 where the cloud has to be georeferenced. |
| Boundary, topographic and staking | GNSS receivers. Tilt compensation is the feature that pays for itself first. |
| Control and high accuracy setting out | Total stations. Robotic if you are running a crew, manual if you are not. |
| Corridor, quarry and large area mapping | Enterprise airframes with a survey payload. Fixed wing VTOL once the areas get large. |
| Utility locating and subsurface | Ground penetrating imaging. |
| Federal and state contracts | NDAA compliant range. Ask us what the requirement actually says before you specify against it. |
How we specify
Tell us the deliverable and the accuracy it has to hold, and we work backwards to the instrument. Three things follow from that:
- We will recommend the cheaper instrument when it does the job. There is no commission structure here pushing the opposite way. If a $9,999 scanner covers your work, we are not going to sell you the $18,999 one.
- We will tell you when nothing in a price band does what you are asking. That conversation is uncomfortable and it saves more money than any discount.
- We will not quote a figure we cannot trace. Every number on this website comes from a manufacturer specification with its measurement condition named. See accuracy, explained honestly for why that matters.
When the client is an institution
A good share of survey work is billed to a university, a city, a state agency or a school district, and their purchasing rules land on you. We already run that process daily:
- Purchase orders accepted, net 30 on approval for US institutions.
- W-9 and vendor pack attached to every quote rather than sent after three emails.
- Quotes issued the same business day and valid for 90 days, which covers a requisition cycle.
- Sole source letters on request where the specification genuinely requires a named instrument.
- Tax exemption handled on the certificate.
Full detail on how the purchase order process runs. If you are quoting a public job and need our paperwork to support your bid, ask and we will send it before you need it.
Buying more than one instrument
If you are equipping a crew, or replacing a generation of kit at once, talk to us before you build the order. Quoting an airframe, a payload, the software and the training as one line rather than four is usually easier for your client's purchasing office to approve, and it means one delivery to coordinate rather than several. Configure it with us on the phone.
Where we are honest about our limits
- We are US only. We do not ship outside the United States.
- We do not rent. If you need an instrument for one job, renting locally will be cheaper than buying from anyone, including us.
- Lead times come from the manufacturer. We ship direct, so we will give you the real answer on the quote rather than a number invented for a web page. Ask before you commit to a client deadline.
Talk to a specialist
Describe the job and the accuracy it has to hold. You will get a straight answer and, if you want one, a formal quote the same business day with the W-9 attached.
