1,400 nits, 3.8 hours on the internal battery, and a storage ceiling that keeps dropping the longer you leave it.
01
It controls the Matrice 4E, 4T, 4D and 4TD, and DJI rules out the Mavic 3 Enterprise Series and the Matrice 3D Series
The Matrice 4E, 4T, 4D and 4TD all pair with this controller. For the 4D Series DJI attaches a condition: update the controller to the latest firmware first. DJI also states that it does not support the Mavic 3 Enterprise Series or the Matrice 3D Series. Transmission is O4 Enterprise on a 2T4R antenna. DJI calls it SDR and 4G hybrid transmission, and lists the 4G side as requiring the DJI Cellular Dongle 2, which is not included. Range is 25 km under FCC and 12 km under CE, SRRC and MIC. DJI's condition covers both: unobstructed, free of interference, and measured as the farthest communication range in one direction, with no return link, under each standard. The controller also carries its own GNSS receiver on GPS, Galileo and BeiDou, and DJI states it supports dynamic Home Point refresh. That matters if you launch from a moving vehicle.
02
1,400 nits is the figure that decides whether you can read the screen in open sun
The display is 7.02 inches, 1920 by 1200, 60 fps, rated at 1,400 nits. That number decides whether you work off the screen at midday or shade it with your body. DJI puts the adjustment on you. Its manual says users are responsible for correctly adjusting the display brightness when using the monitor in direct sunlight during flight operation. The body is IP54 and weighs 1.15 kg without the external battery.
03
DJI rates it 3.8 hours on the internal battery but publishes no test condition
The internal battery is 6500 mAh at 7.2 V, 46.8 Wh, and DJI rates it 3.8 hours. The optional WB37 external battery is 37 Wh and rated 3.2 hours. DJI publishes no test condition for either figure, and does not state whether the two add together. Charging is 2 hours for the internal battery, or for internal and external together, with the controller powered off and a standard DJI charger. It recharges only between 5° and 40° C, inside the -20° to 50° C it operates in. DJI's packing list for this controller is one line: remote controller x1. So the WB37 is not in the box. If you want one, say so on the call and it goes on the same order.
04
It runs to 50° C, but the storage ceiling starts at 45° C and keeps dropping
The controller operates from -20° to 50° C. In storage the ceiling drops: 45° C within one month, 35° C from one to three months, 30° C from three months to a year. The floor holds at -30° C throughout, below the operating floor. So heat, not cold, decides where you leave it: a truck cab, a site container.
