Light does long-range gold prospecting alone; only Professional adds underground imaging and thermal detection.
The Delta Ranger ships in two editions, and the difference is which probes come in the case. Light includes the Long-Range Probe and runs two long-range gold prospecting modes: Bionic Stream for freshly buried gold, Ionic Stream for gold buried a long time. That is the whole Light package, no ground imaging, no thermal detection, no tunnel or room work. Professional adds the Thermo Probe and the Ground Scan Probe, three probes total, adding four more modes: Magnetometer, 3D Ground Scan, Thermo Scan and Thermo Stream. Long-range prospecting only? Light covers it with one probe. Need to see underground, map a tunnel, or read surface temperature for a hidden room? Only Professional carries the probes those modes require.

Six operating modes exist, and each one only switches on once its probe is physically connected.
Bionic Stream and Ionic Stream run off the Long-Range Probe and ship on both editions: Bionic Stream for freshly buried gold, Ionic Stream for gold buried a long time ago, both used with the probe held horizontal. The other four modes belong to Professional. Magnetometer, run through the Ground Scan Probe, finds small ferromagnetic objects near the surface and sets up a 3D Ground Scan, which builds the underground image itself, reviewed afterward in OKM's Visualizer 3D Studio software. Thermo Scan, run through the Thermo Probe, maps hidden tunnels and rooms by reading surface temperature deviation. Thermo Stream gives a live thermographic view for a first pass over unfamiliar ground. None of the four activates without its probe connected; the app flags the missing probe first.

The control unit weighs 640 grams, runs about 24 hours on a charge, and recharges in three and a half hours.
The control unit measures 300 by 135 by 220 millimeters (11.8 by 5.3 by 8.7 inches) and weighs 640 grams (22.6 ounces) on its own, before probes, phone or case. Power comes from a non-removable lithium-ion battery, rated by the manufacturer at approximately 24 hours of operating time and a 3.5-hour recharge at 10 to 30°C (50 to 86°F), on a 5V DC, 2A, 10W charging input. Inside, a Cortex M3 processor at 32 MHz samples the ground at 1024 values per second at 16-bit resolution, and a built-in compass, which needs calibrating before first use, keeps orientation steady while you scan. That is the whole power budget: one battery, one charger, and a day's work to plan around a 24-hour charge.

Three probes, three sensor technologies, and a laser that aims the scan without detecting anything itself.
The Long-Range Probe runs SCMI-15-D / LD-4E sensor technology: 195 millimeters (7.7 inches) long, 40 millimeters (1.6 inches) in diameter, 105 grams (3.7 ounces). The Ground Scan Probe runs the same SCMI-15-D technology in a longer housing built for the imaging modes: 475 millimeters (18.7 inches), 165 grams (5.8 ounces). The Thermo Probe is a contactless infrared sensor, not a metal detector: optimal surface temperature 10 to 25°C (50 to 77°F), measurement range -5 to 50°C (23 to 122°F), resolution 0.1°C, accuracy plus or minus 1°C, aperture angle 5 degrees. A crosshairs laser on the control unit aims the scan, Class 3R under EN 60825-1, 2.5mW output, 650 nanometer wavelength, 150 meter (490 foot) maximum beam distance; it is an aiming laser, not a sensor, it points and does not detect. The control unit links to the companion phone over Bluetooth 5.2, up to 1 Mbps at around 8 meters (25 feet) line of sight.

Operating temperature runs -5 to 50°C for the control unit, the probes and the laser alike, and none of it is waterproof.
OKM rates the control unit to operate between -5 and 50°C (23 to 122°F), the same range given for every probe and for the aiming laser; nothing on the Delta Ranger runs colder or hotter than that. Storage temperature runs wider, -20 to 70°C (-4 to 158°F), and the manufacturer specifies 5 to 75% air humidity for operation. The unit is not waterproof. Between uses, OKM's own instructions call for storing the whole kit in its Protector Case, in a cool, dry place at 10 to 25°C (50 to 75°F), with the probe unplugged and the control unit powered off, and recharging at least every three months if the detector sits unused for a long stretch.

OKM's own manual carries five separate warnings, including an excavation caution most detector pages leave out entirely.
OKM states plainly the Delta Ranger is a passive instrument that does not emit magnetic waves, and advises clarifying pacemaker or medical device interference with a doctor before use; the manual also calls for keeping it at least 50 meters (160 feet) from magnetic fields, motors, speakers, phones, keys and jewelry. The excavation warning is stronger: a danger box reads, word for word, “Do not touch detected ammunition! Report it to the police!” The surrounding text warns that careless digging around a target risks accidentally detonating old ammunition, and flags reddish soil near the surface as a possible sign of rust from an old fuse. The crosshairs laser carries its own danger box, “LASER RADIATION, Avoid Direct Eye Exposure!” Further warnings cover electrical hazard around water and cabling, and choking and asphyxiation hazard from the case cover around children. On the legal side, owning a detector carries no permit to search or dig; OKM points U.S. buyers toward NAGPRA, their State Historic Preservation Office, and the Bureau of Land Management.
