The 515 is the sensor most people in the middle of this market actually buy, and it holds definition along wires better than anything else near its price.

What it is good at

Utility corridors, road and rail, site topography. Two returns at 80 m usable range, 3 cm RMSE typical on the system as a whole. It gets ground under light and moderate cover, which covers most of the work most crews fly.

When to spend the extra $11,150 on a 535

One reason only: dense canopy. The 535 adds a third return and takes usable range to 120 m. If you are not fighting vegetation, that money buys you nothing you will notice, and we would rather you kept it.

One thing to settle before you order. GeoCue documents the Version C build of this sensor and the Version C change is the cameras specifically. This is the Version B build. The scanner, the range, the field of view and the accuracy figures are the laser and the GNSS, and they hold across both. The camera count does not, so it is not in the table above. Ask us and we will get it confirmed in writing before you commit.

Before you order

At this level we would rather have a conversation than take a card. Tell us the airframe, the terrain and what the client is actually buying, and we will tell you which sensor fits and whether the cheaper one would have done.
