01

It is Windows desktop software, and FJD publishes real hardware minimums, not vague suggestions

FJD Trion Model visualizes and processes point cloud data captured by a laser scanner: point cloud mapping, color assignment, denoising and visualization, plus applications like 2D vector drawing, volume measurement and forestry data computation. FJD's own manual, which covers the Windows desktop application, states a minimum of an Intel Core i5-2300 or an equivalent AMD chip, 16 GB of memory, an NVIDIA RTX 3060 and 512 GB of storage, running Windows 8 or later, 64-bit only. FJD recommends an Intel Core i7-10700 or equivalent, 32 GB of memory, an RTX 4080, 1 TB of storage and Windows 11. FJD's store page separately markets a companion iPadOS app; no iPadOS manual was found, so this page does not assume it works the same way as the desktop version.

02

One-click corrections, cross-section analysis, volume and classification, exporting to more formats than the feature list shows

The base license corrects point cloud tilt with one click, measures and displays multiple cross-sections to check data quality, calculates stockpile and enclosed volumes, and automatically classifies buildings, trees and geological features. Contour lines extract with one click. FJD's own FAQ lists a wider export range than its feature list shows: point cloud formats including LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY and PTS, model formats including OBJ, STL and DXF, vector formats including DWG, orthophoto imagery as TIF or TIFF with coordinate data, and reports as DOCX, TXT or XLSX.

03

Standard and Pro editions, plus the Forest, Drawing and Section Analysis modules sold as separate add-ons

FJD sells this software as a Standard or a Pro edition, each as a 1-year or a permanent license. The Forest, Drawing, Section Analysis, Site Survey and Mower modules are each sold separately, each also as a 1-year or a permanent license, and each requires this base license to run; none works standalone. Activation happens through a code applied for at purchase and entered in the software's license setting window. If a license expires, FJD's own instruction is to contact its technical support.

Specifications

What it is
Function Desktop point cloud processing software, developed by FJ Dynamics Co., Ltd., used to visualize and process point cloud data captured by a laser scanner: point cloud mapping, color assignment, denoising and visualization, plus industry applications such as 2D vector line drawing, volume measurement and forestry data computation
Platforms Windows desktop application, plus a separate iPadOS app FJD's own store page lists as 'PC & iPadOS Compatibility.' FJD's own manual documents the Windows desktop version only
System requirements (Windows desktop app)
Minimum Intel Core i5-2300 @ 3.10 GHz or an AMD CPU of equal performance, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 512 GB storage, 1920x1080 display
Recommended Intel Core i7-10700 @ 2.90 GHz or an AMD CPU of equal performance, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, 1 TB storage, 1920x1080 display or above
Operating system Windows 8 or above, 64-bit only; Windows 11 recommended
Gaussian/reality modeling mode A separate, heavier configuration applies for the software's reality modeling feature: minimum Intel Core i5-11500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or higher, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super or higher with 8 GB or more VRAM (AMD graphics cards not supported for this mode), 512 GB storage; recommended Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700G or higher, 64 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 4080, 1 TB storage
Core capabilities (base license)
One-click tilt correction Corrects point cloud tilt with a single click
Profile analysis Measures and displays multiple cross-sections to evaluate point cloud data quality
Volume calculation Calculates stockpile and enclosed volumes
Auto classification Automatically classifies point cloud data related to buildings, trees and geological features, for urban planning, forestry and mineral exploration
Auto contour extraction Extracts vector contour lines from point cloud data with one click
Export FJD's own site-wide FAQ carries a dedicated 'What file formats can the FJD Trion Model export?' answer, listing: point cloud data (LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY, PTS, TXT, ASC, XYZ, CSV, BIN, PCD and others), model data (PLY, OBJ, STL, DXF and others), vector data (DWG, DXF, Bin), orthophoto imagery (TIF/TIFF, including coordinate data), and reports (DOCX, TXT, XLSX and others). A separate image caption on the product page additionally names CAD export in general terms ('Exporting processed LiDAR data to LAS, LAZ, and CAD formats via Trion Model software'), consistent with the FAQ's fuller list
Licensing
Editions Standard and Pro, each sold as a 1-year or a permanent license, priced separately by FJD's own store (Standard: 1-year and permanent tiers; Pro: 1-year and permanent tiers, each a materially higher price than Standard)
Add-on modules Forest, Drawing, Section Analysis, Site Survey and Mower modules are each sold separately from the base license, each as a 1-year or permanent license, and each requires a base Trion Model license; none is a standalone application
Plan structure FJD's own brochure carries a feature-comparison table across six named plans: Basic, Drawing, Forest, Site Survey, Section Analysis and Pro. FJD's own manual documents the Drawing, Forestry and Section Analysis modules chapter by chapter. Call +1 888 850 6533 and we will confirm which plan covers the features you need before you buy
Activation The software 'can be used only with our authorization.' At purchase, the buyer applies for an activation code, which is entered in the software's license setting window. If the license expires, FJD's own instruction is to contact FJDynamics technical support
Delivery Electronic. FJD's own product page marks every Trion Model Software variant as not requiring shipping, and the manual's activation process, an activation code entered in a license setting window, carries no packing list or physical-shipment step anywhere in its 180 pages. Nothing physical ships with this software
