01

This single listing sells three instruments, and the accuracy you choose sets the price and the angle reading

One robotic platform, sold at three angle accuracies: the iX-602 at 2 arc-seconds, the iX-603 at 3, and the iX-605 at 5. An arc-second is a unit of angle, one 3,600th of a degree, and it is how precisely the instrument reads a horizontal or vertical angle. The figures on this page describe the iX-602, the tightest of the three, unless a row says otherwise. Minimum angle display follows the same split: the 602 reads to 0.5 or 1 arc-second, selectable; the 603 and 605 read to 1 or 5. If your survey work does not need angles that tight, the 603 or 605 runs the same robotic platform for less. Confirm which variant your quote names before you order.

A tracking-lock range, not the reflectorless range above; the iX-1200 series reaches 1,000 m on this same measurement

02

The iX-600 turns at 85 degrees a second and tracks at 15, not the 150 and 20 printed for its bigger sibling

Sokkia sells the iX-600 alongside a faster relative, the iX-1200, and its own datasheet prints both series side by side. The iX-600 series turns at up to 85 degrees per second and auto-tracks a moving prism at up to 15 degrees per second. The iX-1200 reaches 150 and 20 on the same two figures. Auto-tracking means the instrument keeps its crosshairs on a moving prism without an operator steering it by hand. Sokkia states the iX-600 figures without any test condition attached beyond the instrument itself. LongLink, Sokkia's robotic Bluetooth link, carries communication up to 600 m with no obstacles, few vehicles nearby and no rain in the area. If you need the faster pair, that is the iX-1200, a different Sokkia model.

03

Reflectorless range reaches 600 meters and the prism range reaches 4,000, both the iX-600's own figures

Reflectorless, what Sokkia calls non-prism, means measuring distance off a bare surface with nothing to reflect the beam back. It is useful for a stockpile face or a wall a rodman cannot reach. The iX-600 measures reflectorless from 0.3 to 600 m. The iX-1200 sibling reaches 800 m under the same conditions. With a Prism-2 reflector attached, the iX-600 reaches 1.3 to 4,000 m, against the iX-1200's 1.3 to 6,000 m. A third figure, 800 m, belongs to neither range: it is UltraTrac's tracking range to a Prism-2 target. Sokkia measures it separately from the standard prism and reflectorless ranges above. Measuring time in Fine mode runs 1.5 seconds for the first shot, then every 0.9 seconds after.

04

Reflectorless accuracy runs 2 millimeters plus 2 parts per million out to 200 meters, in three published bands

Sokkia rates reflectorless distance accuracy in Fine mode at 2 mm + 2 ppm from 0.3 to 200 m. From 200 to 350 m it is 5 mm + 10 ppm, and from 350 to 1,000 m it is 10 mm + 10 ppm. Rapid mode runs 6, 8 and 15 mm across the same three bands. Parts per million means the figure grows with distance, added to the flat number as the shot gets longer. Sokkia tests this figure against a Kodak Gray Card white side, 90 percent reflectance, under 5,000 lux or less. A darker or more textured target changes both range and precision in the field. Sokkia does not split this figure by series, so it applies to every accuracy variant on this listing. Prism accuracy runs tighter, at 2 mm + 2 ppm Fine for the iX-600 against 1 mm + 2 ppm for the iX-1200.

05

Battery, charger, cable, and a carrying case with shoulder belt ship standard; the remote and the laser plummet do not

Sokkia's own operator manual marks the BDC72 battery, the CDC77 charger, an EDC113-series power cable, and a carrying case with shoulder belt as standard equipment. The same manual marks the RC-PR5A remote controller and the laser plummet as optional accessories, bought separately, alongside an interface cable and an AC/DC converter. One BDC72 charge runs the instrument about 4 hours at 20 degrees Celsius; an optional external BT-73Q battery extends that to roughly 6.5 hours. The instrument itself is IP65 rated, dust and water resistant. Sokkia rates the standard model to operate from -20 to +50 degrees Celsius.

06

Whether a field controller or a software license ships with the instrument is not something Sokkia states anywhere

Sokkia says the iX-600 works with Sokkia Field or third-party field software. That is a compatibility statement, not an inclusion statement. Nothing on Sokkia's product page, datasheet or manual says whether a handheld controller or a software license comes with the unit. On our own store and at two independent dealers, a compatible field controller such as the Sokkia SHC6000 is sold as its own line item. It runs several thousand dollars on its own, a strong signal it is bought separately, not a manufacturer statement that it is excluded. If your workflow needs a controller and you do not already own a compatible one, confirm it with us before you order.

07 FOR UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

Sokkia backs the instrument for 3 years, and we take purchase orders

Sokkia's instrument warranty runs 3 years. The ultrasonic motor that drives the robotic tracking carries its own 5-year warranty, stated identically for the iX-1200 and iX-600 lines. We accept purchase orders, and a W-9 and vendor pack come with every quote. This instrument ships direct from the manufacturer. Call +1 888 850 6533, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain Time, to confirm your variant, your accessories, and exactly what ships with your order.
