Sokkia iX 1200 Series Robotic Total Station
W-9 and vendor pack with every quote
Shipped direct from the manufacturer
Sokkia builds the iX-1200 series in three accuracy classes, 1, 3 or 5 arc-seconds; this listing is the iX-1201, the 1-second model, with a 6,000 m prism range and reflectorless accuracy that loosens from 2 mm at 200 m to 10 mm by 1,000 m.
01
This is the iX-1201, the 1-second model in a three-variant family: 1, 3 or 5 arc-seconds, not 1, 2 or 3
Sokkia builds the iX-1200 series in three accuracy classes, 1, 3 or 5 arc-seconds (0.3, 1.0 or 1.5 mgon), measured to ISO 17123-3:2001. This listing is the iX-1201, the 1-second, top-accuracy model of the three. A separate Sokkia family, the iX-600 series, shares the same product page and the same manual but covers 2, 3 and 5 arc-seconds instead. It is easy to blend the two lists into one. If you see a 2-second option quoted against this instrument, that figure belongs to the iX-600, not the iX-1200. Angle accuracy is the number that decides which family you need, and every other figure in this listing describes the iX-1201 specifically.
02
Sokkia's own site still lists this line as current; one dealer calls it discontinued
Sokkia's US product page for the iX-1200/600 series carries no discontinuation notice. Sokkia's own support hub for this exact family posted a firmware release dated November 5, 2025. Set against that, one dealer's own listing marks the line discontinued and points buyers toward Sokkia's newer iX-1500/700 series. We have not resolved which reading is right, and a product description is the wrong place to guess. Call us before you order and we will tell you exactly what we currently know.
03
This variant turns faster and reaches further than its iX-600 sibling, if you need the range
The iX-1200 series turns at 150 degrees per second and auto-tracks at 20 degrees per second. The iX-600 series turns at 85 degrees per second and tracks at 15. Prism range runs to 6,000 m on this series against 4,000 m on the iX-600, and reflectorless range runs to 800 m against 600 m. Over a large site, long sightlines or one-person robotic work, the extra reach and tracking speed are the iX-1200's advantage over the iX-600. Where sightlines run shorter, the iX-600's shorter range and slower tracking may still be enough for the job.
04
Reflectorless accuracy loosens with distance: 2 mm to 200 m, widening to 10 mm by 1,000 m
Sokkia states reflectorless, no-prism accuracy in three distance bands, Fine mode. From 0.3 to 200 m it is 2 mm + 2 ppm; from 200 to 350 m, 5 mm + 10 ppm; from 350 to 1,000 m, 10 mm + 10 ppm. This series' own reflectorless working range is 800 m, so the top band applies before the range runs out. Prism-based measurement is tighter throughout: 1 mm + 2 ppm in Fine mode, out to the full 6,000 m prism range. Plan reflectorless work around the banded figure that matches your distance, not the 2 mm headline alone.
05
The price includes the instrument, battery, charger, region cable and case, backed by a three-year warranty
Sokkia's own manual marks the BDC72 battery, the CDC77 charger and a region-specific power cable as standard accessories. It separately names a carrying case with shoulder belt as standard equipment. The instrument itself carries a three-year Sokkia warranty. The UltraSonic motor carries a longer warranty on top of that, five years, stated identically on Sokkia's product page and datasheet.
06
It does not include a prism, the RC-PR5A remote, or a data collector
Sokkia's manual states plainly that every prism and reflective target is a special accessory, sold separately. The RC-PR5A remote, needed for one-person robotic prism reacquisition, is optional too. No Sokkia or Topcon document names a data collector, tablet or field-software license as shipping with the instrument. Sokkia's own page lists only compatibility with Sokkia Field and third-party software. One dealer advertises built-in field software on the instrument's display. That claim does not appear anywhere in Sokkia's own 175-page operator manual, so we are not printing it here as fact.
