Topcon RL-200 2S Dual Grade Laser
W-9 and vendor pack with every quote
Shipped direct from the manufacturer
The RL-200 2S sets two independent slopes, X axis up to plus or minus 10% and Y axis -5% to +25%, across a 3,600 ft (1,100 m) working diameter, with a receiver bundled into every kit. The single-slope model in this family is the RL-200 1S.
01
This is the RL-200 2S, the dual-slope model: X axis up to plus or minus 10%, Y axis -5% to +25%, set independently
Topcon builds two lasers in the RL-200 family: the RL-200 1S, a single-slope model, and the RL-200 2S, sold here. The 1S sets one slope at a time, anywhere from -5% up to +25%. The 2S adds a second, independent X axis on top of that same Y-axis range, up to plus or minus 10%. Slope on either axis runs up to 25% total without slope blocks fitted. Every figure on this page describes the 2S. Horizontal accuracy is plus or minus 7 arc seconds, stated identically across the whole RL-200 Series. A dealer's own conversion puts that near plus or minus 3/64 inch at 100 feet. Topcon states the same figure for repeatability, as a separate spec. The laser self-levels across plus or minus 5 degrees and relevels itself if the tripod gets bumped mid-job.
02
Working range runs to 3,600 ft (1,100 m) diameter with a receiver, and rotation speed is selectable
The RL-200 2S covers a working range of 3,600 ft (1,100 m) diameter once a compatible laser receiver is in play, per Topcon's own catalog. That figure is a diameter, the full circle around the instrument, not a radius out from it. The laser turns at 300, 600 or 900 rpm, selectable to match the job. A backlit graphical display shows current grade, beam masking status, rotation speed, remote channel, sensitivity and height-of-instrument alert. It shows on the laser itself and on the RC-400 remote. An operator reads the laser's status at a glance, without walking back to it.
03
It is a Class 3R laser, and the beam can injure an eye at close range or on reflection
Topcon's current specification page for the RL-200 lists this laser as Class 3R. A Class 3R beam is visible and can cause eye injury from direct exposure or from a reflection. Do not stare into the beam or aim it at another person. Never view it through optical instruments. No RL-200 operator's manual is published for this laser, so 3R rests on that one Topcon source alone.
04
Every kit ships with a receiver, an LS-80X on two SKUs, an LS-100D on the third
This laser is sold in three kits, and every one bundles a receiver, confirmed against Topcon's own official channel parts list. The alkaline kit and one of the two rechargeable kits pair the laser with an LS-80X handheld receiver. Detection precision is selectable, plus or minus 1.0 mm or 2.0 mm. Its working diameter runs 2 to 800 m (3 to 1,300 ft), on two AA batteries for up to 120 hours. The alkaline kit's laser runs up to 100 hours. The third kit, also rechargeable, pairs the laser with an LS-100D receiver instead. Topcon documents no detailed technical figures for the LS-100D beyond its front-and-back display.
05
The RC-400 remote ships with both rechargeable kits, not with the alkaline kit
The RC-400 remote control is sold with, and usable only on, the RL-200 2S. The RL-200 1S sibling has no remote control option at all. Two of this laser's three kits include the RC-400, both rechargeable; the alkaline kit ships without a remote. From up to 300 m (about 985 ft) away, the RC-400 mirrors the laser's own display. Both show current grade, beam masking status, rotation speed, remote channel, sensitivity and height-of-instrument alert. The rechargeable battery pack (BT-67Q) and its holder (DB-75C/E) sell separately, for the whole RL-200 Series, running up to 90 hours per charge.

Operating temperature and body weight are not published by Topcon, so call before you rely on them
A few figures for this laser are not corroborated anywhere in Topcon's own brochure, catalog, or current specification page for the RL-200. We are not printing them here as settled Topcon fact. Operating temperature is one: two independent dealers state -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F), but no Topcon document for the RL-200 states an operating range. Laser body weight is another; reported figures run from 6.6 lbs to 7.9 lbs, depending on source and battery type, and no Topcon document states a weight either. If either figure matters to your job, call us and we will find out directly rather than guess.
