GeoCue answers the origin question two different ways, so settle it first if origin is why this sensor is on your list
GeoCue's own question and answer on the TrueView 641 page states the sensor is manufactured in Germany and assembled in America. Its Geo Week announcement quotes a GeoCue vice president saying the company remains committed to manufacturing these systems in America. The two are not the same, and GeoCue does not reconcile them. For a commercial buyer that changes nothing. For a federal agency, a defense prime or a university spending federal grant money, it can end the conversation. GeoCue calls the 641 NDAA compliant but cites no NDAA section number on its product page, in its hardware user guide, or in either launch announcement.

GeoCue names no compatible drone model anywhere, so the mounting interface is the thing to settle before you order
GeoCue publishes no list of named compatible drones for the TrueView 641. That holds on its product page, its hardware user guide, its drone LiDAR overview page and both drone partner pages. The Drone Platforms block on the 641 page shows drone-maker logos under a family-level line and names no drone model. The payload interface comes in three variants, which GeoCue says cover the most common interfaces used in major drone brands. Its user guide documents one of them step by step, the FreeFly Smart Dovetail, and does not name the other two.

Usable range is 170 m against a 20 percent reflective target, and GeoCue's 400 m figure carries no target condition
It is a single beam Triple-IN SLP-LW scanner giving up to six returns per outgoing pulse. Six returns matter under canopy, where the first return is treetop and a later one reaches ground. GeoCue's product page states usable range as 170 m for targets with 20 percent reflectivity. Its October 2025 launch announcement states up to 400 meters and attaches no reflectivity or target condition. Its hardware user guide plots reflectivity against maximum range for this scanner. The curve sits near 170 m at 20 percent and reaches about 400 m only at the top of the reflectivity scale. GeoCue does not reconcile the two, so plan flight lines on the conditioned one.

The same two accuracy numbers appear in millimeters and in centimeters, and only the centimeter pair carries a condition
GeoCue's product page gives scanner performance as precision 3 mm or better and accuracy 4 mm or better, with no test condition. Its hardware user guide gives the payload 3 cm precision or better at 1 sigma and 4 cm accuracy or better. Both are stated at 50 m, nadir, with Strip Align applied. Same numerals, ten times apart, and GeoCue does not reconcile them. GeoCue's product page also publishes system performance. Precision observed on one strip is typically 20 mm, and less than 15 mm at 1 sigma observed at 75 m on concrete. Accuracy is typical 3 cm RMSE and better than 5 cm 3D RMSE, depending on GNSS conditions, control point accuracy and coordinate system. Budget the deliverable against the conditioned figures, not the millimeter pair that carries no condition.

This is a PPK sensor, so a base station or CORS coverage is a cost to plan before the first flight
PPK means the payload records GNSS signals in flight and LP360 corrects them afterwards. GeoCue gives three correction methods. Single base uses a static recording from one base station near the flight area, or a CORS station within 12 miles. SmartBase is a cloud method using multiple CORS stations, and still needs a CORS network over the flight area. PP-RTX needs no base station and no CORS network, and GeoCue states accuracy is reduced with it and treats it as a last resort. Neither of GeoCue's two contents lists mentions a base station, and its own mission checklist for this payload opens by setting one up. Every flight also carries a heading alignment maneuver, accelerating to 10 m/s forward and then backward.

The first year of maintenance stands in place of a warranty, and GeoCue states TrueView systems are not returnable
GeoCue's TrueView 641 page lists LP360 Drone processing software with the Strip Align and Photo add-ons. It names no other add-on as included, though the same page carries a section on LP360 3D Accuracy. It lists one year of support and two days of training at its Huntsville, Alabama office. GeoCue also states that purchased TrueView systems are not returnable. GeoCue states that purchased TrueView hardware includes the first year of hardware maintenance, and that there is no hardware warranty separate from that agreement. After the first year, maintenance renews at GeoCue's then current pricing, and hardware maintenance cannot be held without a concurrent software agreement. If software maintenance is not renewed, LP360 Drone keeps working but stops receiving technical support, updates and fixes.
