The third laser return and the extra range are what this adds over the TrueView 515, and they only pay under dense vegetation
GeoCue rates this sensor at 32 beams with up to three returns per beam, and names the third return as the change from the TrueView 515. A first return comes off the canopy, a second gets into it, and the third reaches ground beneath. Usable range is 120 m at 20 percent reflectivity, GeoCue's own condition, against 80 m on the 515 at the same reflectivity. Cross-track field of view and pulse rate are identical on both, and the camera count goes from two to three. Over open ground, corridors and stockpiles the third return has nothing to find, and the 515 delivers the same product. Tell us what you fly over and we will say which of the two you need.

This listing buys the payload itself, and which build version arrives is settled on the quote
GeoCue's own materials name four generations of this payload: its profile list carries separate entries for TrueView 535 and 535vC, and its Matrice 400 article publishes upgrade kits for vA, vC and vD. Version C changed the cameras. GeoCue also names a TrueView 535APX, the no-base-station option, providing unlimited PP-RTX post-processing, with its own asterisk attached: a mandatory yearly maintenance fee from the second year. Its FLEX option covers the 515 and 535, moving LP360 software onto a yearly subscription model. Mobile mapping kits, mounting kits, base stations and the Accuracy Star target sit under add-ons on GeoCue's page, not in what it lists in the box.

The aircraft GeoCue publishes a profile for are the ones already set up, and the DJI Matrice 400 needs two changes first
A profile means GeoCue has set the lever arms and antenna values for that pairing. For the 535 it names the Freefly Alta X, DJI M300, M350 and M600, Inspired Flight IF1200A and IF1200, BlackSquare Hercules and Argosdyne Aquilla3. The IF800 Tomcat appears in the 535vC list only. GeoCue says it can discuss a custom integration for a platform not on that list. GeoCue's mounting article lists the 535 as compatible with the DJI Matrice 400 on two conditions: a payload upgrade kit for the DJI SkyPort adapter, and replacement of the shock-absorbing balls, rated below 1 kg as supplied. On the M300, GeoCue's manual warns that fitting a TrueView system disrupts the built-in obstacle avoidance. Leaving it enabled can cause erratic and potentially dangerous behavior. GeoCue's terms also strongly recommend an automatically deployable parachute, while stating one may fail.

GeoCue's product page and its own 2023 manual disagree on range, cameras, mass and temperature
The product page gives 120 m usable range at 20 percent reflectivity; the hardware user guide for this payload gives 80 m at the same reflectivity. The page specifies three 26 MP Sony cameras with mechanical leaf shutters; the manual documents three 20 MP GeoCue Mapping Cameras, 60 MP combined. Mass is 1.75 kg on the page, payload alone with no battery, mount, antenna or power adapter, and 1.6 kg in the manual. Operating temperature is minus 15 to 50 degrees C on the page and minus 10 to 50 degrees C in the manual. The manual adds that operating outside its range can damage the payload, so plan against the narrower figure.

Every accuracy figure carries a condition, and the coverage chart uses a narrower field of view than the specification
System accuracy is typically 3 cm RMSE, better than 5 cm 3D RMSE, on GeoCue's own qualification: depending on GNSS conditions, control point accuracy and coordinate system. This is a PPK system: it records GNSS in flight and corrects it afterward, from a base station, a CORS station within 12 miles, SmartBase or PP-RTX. GeoCue's page calls the no-base-station configuration survey-grade with less field complexity; its manual calls PP-RTX reduced in accuracy and a last resort. Settle which applies to your tolerance. Coverage runs from about 155 acres per hour at 40 m above ground level and 50 percent overlap. At 120 m and 20 percent overlap it reaches about 540. GeoCue computes that chart at 20 percent dead time, 5 m/s and a 90 degree field of view, not the 120 degrees specified.

Purchased systems are not returnable, and hardware maintenance cannot be held without the software agreement
GeoCue states purchased TrueView systems are not returnable; defective ones are repaired or replaced at its discretion. There is no hardware warranty separate from maintenance: the first year of both is included, later years bought at GeoCue's then current pricing. Hardware is not eligible for maintenance or repair unless the accompanying software, currently LP360 Drone and POSPac UAV, is under agreement. LP360 Drone keeps running if you stop renewing software, but with no support, updates or fixes. If the commitment is the worry, GeoCue rents this sensor from one month, and states a USA or Canadian subscription can later convert to ownership.

GeoCue does not tag this sensor NDAA compliant, and publishes no ingress protection rating
GeoCue's sensor selector applies its NDAA Compliant filter to five other TrueView sensors, not to this one. GeoCue's FAQ on this page states that TrueView 3D Imaging Sensors are designed and manufactured in its Huntsville, Alabama facilities. Beyond that, GeoCue publishes no country-of-origin or customs classification statement for this payload, and no ingress protection rating. Not on the product page, its specification table, that FAQ block or the hardware user guide. The manual does carry a caution: do not expose the payload to rain, water, snow or high moisture. Settle two things first: which build version ships, and whether the no-base-station configuration is in the order.
