Topcon TP-L6 Pipe Laser
W-9 and vendor pack with every quote
Shipped direct from the manufacturer
Topcon sells five TP-L6 models on this listing. They are five different instruments, not one laser with software options: red or green beam, with or without auto-alignment, with or without a laser plummet. Which one is right for you depends on beam color and which two features you actually need.
01
Five TP-L6 models sit on this listing, and each is a physically different instrument
This listing carries five TP-L6 models, confirmed against Topcon's own channel parts list as five separate builds rather than one laser with selectable options. TP-L6B and TP-L6AV use a red beam. TP-L6BG, TP-L6G and TP-L6GV use a green beam. Auto-alignment, which centers the laser automatically inside the pipe, ships on TP-L6GV, TP-L6AV and TP-L6G. A laser plummet, a second beam pointing straight up or down, ships only on TP-L6AV and TP-L6GV. TP-L6B and TP-L6BG have neither feature. Start with beam color and whether you need auto-alignment or the plummet, because those two questions place you on exactly one of the five models.
02
Topcon's own catalog and category page say every TP-L6 has auto-alignment and a plummet; its newer brochure disagrees
Topcon's full catalog and its current category page both print auto-alignment and a plumb reference as a blanket yes for the whole TP-L6 line. Neither source splits the claim by model. Topcon's own 2026 brochure tells a narrower story: auto-alignment ships on TP-L6GV, TP-L6AV and TP-L6G, and the plummet ships on TP-L6AV and TP-L6GV only. An independent dealer's own per-model descriptions match the brochure exactly, model for model. We have not resolved which Topcon document is right, and this page will not guess for you. What we can say is that the brochure is newer, more specific, and corroborated by an outside source, so we follow it here. If a feature on this list is the reason you are choosing a model, call us before you order and we will confirm it against Topcon directly.
03
This is a Class 3R laser, read from the safety label on the instrument itself, not from any spec sheet
No Topcon text or spec table states a laser class for the TP-L6 anywhere. The class is legible on the instrument's own regulatory label, photographed in Topcon's current brochure: CAUTION, Class 3R laser radiation, avoid direct eye exposure. Wavelength and maximum output power sit on that same label but are not legible at any resolution we could read, so we are not stating them. This is a pipe laser, so these precautions earn real space here rather than a passing mention. Never point the beam at another person. Do not look directly into the beam, stare at it, or view it through a telescope or binoculars. Wear eye protection rated OD2, matched to the wavelength of the instrument in use. Keep the unit at least 22 cm from anyone wearing a cardiac pacemaker, a caution for its Bluetooth radio rather than the laser.
04
IPX8 water resistance applies only when the battery holder is attached
Topcon's own catalog rates the TP-L6 IPX8, and states the condition plainly: the rating holds when the battery holder is attached. No Topcon document states a submersion depth. On this laser, that condition is not a footnote. Remove the battery holder and the rating no longer applies, whatever the housing looks like. If your job regularly puts this laser near standing water, plan around the battery holder staying attached. Call us if you want to talk through a specific job before you buy.
05
Auto-alignment, auto line centering, self-leveling, line lock: four names appear across four sources, and we have not merged them into one
The same or a closely related centering capability appears under four different names. Topcon's brochure calls it auto-alignment. Topcon's catalog calls it auto line centering. Topcon's own category page calls it self-leveling. This listing's own specification field calls it line lock. Whether all four genuinely describe one capability, or two related but distinct ones, is not settled by anything we have read. We are not picking one name and assuming it covers what the other three describe. If the exact behavior behind any of these names matters to your job, ask us before you order. We will get a straight answer rather than guess at one.

The RC-500 remote ships standard with every package; battery count and leg sets do not
Topcon's own quick-start insert lists the main unit, an RC-500 remote, a battery, a charger and a power cable as standard equipment. It also lists self-centering feet, a carrying case, a target and the manual. Included accessories vary by package, per Topcon's own footnote. The RC-500 remote is the one item on that list with no package-based variation stated anywhere, so it should be in every box. Battery count is not settled. Topcon's own insert says two or one, depending on package, and two dealers we checked do not agree with each other on a number either. Two independent dealers separately state that leg sets in four sizes ship included. Whether those leg sets are the same accessory as the self-centering feet named in Topcon's own manual is not settled by anything we have read. Call us and we will confirm exactly what ships with your specific SKU before you order.

The five variants, and what actually separates them
| Variants on this listing | TP-L6B (SKU 1034437-05) and TP-L6AV (SKU 1034437-08) are red beam. TP-L6BG (SKU 1034437-07), TP-L6G (SKU 1034437-06) and TP-L6GV (SKU 1034437-09) are green beam. Each is a distinct physical instrument per Topcon's own current channel parts list and its own current catalog, not a software-selectable option on one unitThe four target-insert accessory lines in Topcon's own parts list group differently again (AV alone, G and GV together, B alone, BG alone) |
| Auto-alignment, automatic horizontal centering in the pipe or manhole | TP-L6GV, TP-L6AV and TP-L6G only, per Topcon's own current brochure. Not on TP-L6B or TP-L6BGTopcon's own current catalog and current category page both print this feature as a blanket yes for the whole TP-L6 line, with no model restriction stated; Topcon's own newer, per-model brochure restricts it to these three models |
| Laser plummet, a second, vertical reference beam | TP-L6AV and TP-L6GV only, per Topcon's own current brochure. Not on TP-L6B, TP-L6BG or TP-L6GTopcon's own current catalog and current category page both print a plumb reference as a blanket yes for the whole line; Topcon's own newer, per-model brochure restricts it to the TP-L6AV and TP-L6GV |
| Automatic target acquisition, a mobile app feature | TP-L6AV and TP-L6GV only, per Topcon's own current brochureTopcon's own catalog lists an identically worded app feature with no model restriction attached |
| Feature naming across Topcon's own documents | The same or a closely related centering capability appears under three different names in Topcon's own documents: auto-alignment (the brochure), auto line centering (the catalog) and self-leveling (the category page). None of the three states whether these name one capability or three |

| Manufacturer warranty | Five years |
| Laser class | Class 3R. Topcon's own regulatory label on the instrument, photographed in Topcon's brochure, reads "CAUTION - Class 3R LASER RADIATION WHEN OPEN AVOID DIRECT EYE EXPOSURE." No Topcon text or table states a class |
Laser safety
| Recommended eye protection | Optical density OD2, matched to the wavelength of the instrument in use, for anyone working within range of the laser beam |
| Cardiac pacemaker distance | At least 22 cm from anyone wearing a cardiac pacemaker, a standard caution for the unit's Bluetooth radio, not the laser itself |
| General laser precautions | Never point the beam at another person. Do not look directly into the beam, stare at it, or view it through a telescope, binoculars or other optical instrument. Secure the instrument before use so nobody is in the beam path when it is switched on. Post areas where the laser is in use with a standard laser warning sign |
Mobile app and remote control
| Laser Manager mobile app | A free app for Android devices only. Automatically acquires targets, remotely sets position and slope, checks grade status, self-levels and calibrates the laser, and checks battery statusTopcon's own catalog names an Android version only |
| RC-500 remote control | Ships as standard equipment with every packageTopcon's own channel parts list also prices an RC-500 separately, as a spare part |
What ships with the instrument
