Shipped direct from the manufacturer
The LS-B10 detects a rotating laser's beam across 270 degrees and 120 mm vertically, in four selectable precision modes from plus or minus 2 mm to plus or minus 30 mm. The wireless LS-B10W adds an in-cab remote display and a shorter run time, about 20 hours against 100.
01
This is the LS-B10, which detects only; a separate LS-B10W variant adds a wireless link to an in-cab remote display
Topcon builds two versions of this receiver. The LS-B10, described on this page, mounts on the machine and indicates only, with no wireless output. The LS-B10W pairs the same detection hardware with a wireless remote display inside the cab, over a CAN interface. Every specification on this page describes the LS-B10 unless the LS-B10W is named directly.
02
Detection covers 270 degrees and 120 mm vertically, in four selectable precision modes, never five
The LS-B10 reads a rotating laser's beam across a 270-degree arc and a 120 mm vertical window. Precision is selectable in four steps. Mode 1 holds plus or minus 2 mm, Mode 2 plus or minus 6 mm. Mode 3 holds plus or minus 12 mm, Mode 4 plus or minus 30 mm. Some previously published copies of this spec print a fifth value ahead of these four, reading Mode 1: 0. Topcon's own instruction manual lists only four modes, and so does an independently dated 2006 Topcon brochure for the same receiver. That fifth value does not appear here. The receiver also reads a laser wavelength of 633 to 780 nanometers, a figure not published anywhere else for this exact product.
03
The 700 m detection range is a condition, not a flat number: it holds with the RL-H1Sa rotary laser
Topcon states a laser detecting range of 700 m (2,300 ft) for this receiver, measured using one specific rotary laser, the RL-H1Sa. The manual states that figure, along with the detection angle and precision figures above, can vary with a different rotary laser or in different atmospheric conditions. The RL-H1Sa itself is not a rotary laser model currently sold; confirm compatibility with the rotary laser on your machine by phone before you order. The receiver works as a general detector for a compatible rotating laser's beam. A height-alert warning only works if the paired rotary laser itself sends a height-alert signal; the receiver cannot generate that alert on its own.

Ingress rating and weight: Topcon's own two manual revisions disagree, and IP66 is the better-supported figure
Topcon's instruction manual for the LS-B10 exists in two revisions, and they do not agree with each other. The older, US-format printing states an IPX6 water-resistance rating, water only. A later revision, a separately dated 2006 Topcon document, and every other source checked, all state IP66, a rating that covers dust as well as water. IP66 is the figure carried here, on the weight of the evidence, though the manual disagreement itself stays unresolved. Weight runs close to 0.5 kg (1.1 lbs) without batteries; the two manual revisions themselves state 0.53 kg and 0.5 kg. Operating temperature runs -20 degrees C to 50 degrees C (-4 degrees F to 122 degrees F). The receiver measures 110 x 36 x 176 mm (4.3 x 1.4 x 6.9 in), by the manual's own figures.
05
Topcon's manual carries six separate safety cautions, and none of them are merged into another here
Keep the receiver's magnetic clamp away from anyone wearing a pacemaker or other electronic medical device; the magnetic field can disrupt normal operation. Do not disassemble or repair the unit yourself: a risk of fire, electric shock or physical harm. Repairs must be carried out only by Topcon or one of its own dealers. Never use the receiver near flammable gas or liquid, or inside a coal mine, where it may ignite an explosion. On the battery, three cautions kept separate here. Do not use a wet battery. Do not short-circuit a battery in storage. Do not use a damaged power cable, plug or socket. Keep fingers clear of the magnet while mounting the unit, and if battery acid touches skin or clothing, wash immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Keep the magnetic clamp away from sensitive electronics and magnetic storage media, such as computer disks.

Warranty, the remote display's name, and the LS-B10W's battery life are not settled by Topcon directly
No Topcon document found states a warranty length for this receiver. One independent dealer lists a one-year warranty as part of its own stated box contents; that figure is the dealer's claim, not Topcon's. The LS-B10W's optional in-cab remote display carries a naming split three ways. This listing calls it the RD-100W. Two independent dealers and a dated Topcon document call it the RD-10W instead. Topcon's own official parts list separately lists an RD-100W, but ties that part to a different receiver, the LS-B110W, not this one. The LS-B10W's own battery life runs about 20 hours, not confirmed by any Topcon document naming the LS-B10W specifically. A separate 30-hour figure is published for the LS-B20W; that figure is not a stand-in for this receiver's own battery life.

Mounting and compatibility
| Mounting | Integrated magnet built into the instrument bodyTopcon's own current category page for the adjacent product tier states a magnetic or screw mount with an optional grade-rod holder across the LS-B family. Topcon's own instruction manual for this receiver shows only the integrated magnet in its nomenclature diagram |
| Laser detecting range, diameter | 700 m (2,300 ft), measured using the RL-H1Sa rotary laserTopcon's own manual states this figure, and the detection angle and precision figures above, may vary depending on the rotating laser being used or atmospheric conditions. RL-H1Sa is not a rotary laser model in the current Topcon lineup |
| Compatibility with the paired rotary laser | Works as a general-purpose detector for a compatible rotating laser's beam. A height-alert warning feature only operates if the paired rotary laser itself outputs a height-alert signalTopcon's own instruction manual names one rotary laser, the RL-H1Sa, and only as the test condition for its range figure |
Power and operating time
| Power source | 3 AA dry cell batteries |
| Continuous operating time, LS-B10 (non-wireless) | Approximately 100 hours, measured at plus 20 degrees C with alkaline manganese dry cells |

Build, environment and warranty
| Water and dust protection | IP66. Topcon's own instruction manual exists in two production revisions that disagree: the older US-format revision states IPX6, water only, while the later A4 revision and Topcon's dated 2006 sales document both describe the unit as water and dust protected without giving a numeric rating |
| Operating temperature | -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F) |
| Dimensions (W x D x H) | 110 x 36 x 176 mm (4.3 x 1.4 x 6.9 in)Topcon's dated 2006 sales document for this product gives 115 x 40 x 180 mm (4.53 x 1.53 x 7.09 in) instead. The figure above is the instruction manual's, as the more specific product-named source |
| Weight | About 0.5 kg (1.1 lbs) without batteries. Topcon's own two instruction-manual revisions state 0.53 kg and 0.5 kg respectivelyTopcon's dated 2006 sales document for this product states less than 500 g |
| Manufacturer warranty | One year, as stated by an independent dealer's own box contents for this exact SKU. Topcon's own instruction manual for this receiver states no warranty length |
Safety cautions, from Topcon's own instruction manual
| Magnetic field and pacemakers | Do not hold the receiver's magnetic clamp near anyone using a pacemaker or other electronic medical device. The magnetic field can disrupt normal operation of such devices |
| Repair and disassembly | There is a risk of fire, electric shock or physical harm from disassembling or repairing the instrument. Repairs must be carried out only by Topcon or an authorized dealer |
| Flammable environments | Never use the instrument near flammable gas or liquid, and do not use it in a coal mine. It may ignite explosively |
| Battery handling | Do not use a wet battery, do not short-circuit a battery in storage, and do not use a damaged power cable, plug or socket. |
| Finger and skin contact | Keep fingers clear of the magnet while mounting the unit to equipment. If skin or clothing contacts battery acid, wash immediately with copious water and seek medical advice |
| Sensitive electronics and storage media | Keep the unit's magnetic clamp away from sensitive electronic devices and magnetic storage media such as computer disks |
The wireless LS-B10W and its remote display
| Wireless capability | LS-B10: no. LS-B10W: yes |
| Interface, LS-B10W | CANTopcon's own current material for the adjacent product tier separately states CAN plus Bluetooth for that tier's wireless variant. Topcon's own instruction manual for this receiver covers the non-wireless LS-B10 only and does not mention the LS-B10W |
| Remote display accessory, model name and part number | An optional in-cab remote display exists for the wireless variant. Topcon's dated 2006 document for this product calls it the RD-10W, part 312661111. Topcon's own official channel parts list separately lists an RD-100W, part 312671121, described as compatible with an LS-B110W rather than an LS-B10W |
| Remote display operating time, per the dated 2006 document | 40 hoursFrom Topcon's dated 2006 document, and describes the remote display accessory rather than the receiver itself |
