FJD Trion Model Section Analysis Module
W-9 and vendor pack with every quote
Shipped direct from the manufacturer
An add-on to FJD Trion Model that compares a designed tunnel section against the scanned result, not a general-purpose cross-section viewer.
01
FJD's own manual documents this as a tunnel design tool, not a general-purpose cross-section viewer
FJD's own manual introduces this module entirely around tunnel design: a reference axis line, a designed cross-section, extraction of the actual scanned section, and a report on the difference between the two. FJD's own store page instead describes it more generally, as measuring and displaying multiple cross-sections to evaluate point cloud data quality. Both are FJD's own words, on two different FJD pages. If your project is not a tunnel, ask what the module does for your use case before you buy.
02
It builds a reference axis from your tunnel design, then compares the scanned section against it
The axis import step lets you define a broken chain, FJD's term for a section of the design line interrupted by a change such as geological conditions or a design revision, then build the curve by an intersection-point or a line-element method. The module imports the designed cross-section, generates the actual section from the scanned point cloud, compares the two, and outputs an annotated report.
03
It is a paid add-on to the base Trion Model license, not a standalone program
This module requires a base Trion Model license and is not sold or usable on its own. FJD sells it as a 1-year or a permanent license, each at its own separate price, activated with a code entered in the software after purchase. If the license expires, FJD's own instruction is to contact its technical support.

Specifications
What it is
| Function | An add-on module for FJD Trion Model that compares design and as-scanned cross-sections. It requires a base Trion Model license and is not a standalone application |
| Two descriptions from FJD, not fully aligned | FJD's own store feature card describes this generically as measuring and displaying multiple cross-sections 'to evaluate point cloud data quality.' FJD's own manual instead introduces its Section Analysis chapter specifically around tunnel design work: 'reference section line design based on point cloud and 3D model data, actual section extraction, over-excavation analysis, and report generation.' Both are FJD's own words, from two different FJD-owned pages; this page states both rather than picking one |
What it does, per the manual's own chapter
| Design import | Creates a reference axis line from tunnel design parameters. The operator can define a 'broken chain,' the manual's term for a section of the design line interrupted by a change such as geological conditions or a design revision, then build the curve by an intersection-point method (starting point, intersection point, endpoint) or a line-element method (straight line, circular curve, incoming or outgoing easing curve) |
| Design section | Imports the designed cross-section shape to compare against the scanned result |
| Section generation and comparison | Generates actual cross-sections from the scanned point cloud along the design axis, then compares them against the design section |
| Result annotation and report | Annotates the comparison result and outputs a report |
| Domain | Every worked example in the manual's own chapter is a tunnel cross-section; no other application (road, building facade or open excavation) is shown or described in this chapter |
Licensing
| Requires | A base Trion Model license (Standard or Pro); this module is not sold or usable on its own |
| Terms | Sold as a 1-year or a permanent license, each at its own separate price |
| Activation | Applied for as an activation code at purchase and entered in the software's license setting window; FJD's instruction on expiry is to contact FJDynamics technical support |
| Delivery | Electronic. No physical shipment |
